In most cases, only the mother-to-be knows all the invitedguests, so the introductions as well as conversation startersare the responsibility of the hostess.

Babyshower games are a popular way to break the ice and givepeople a reason to mingle and talk to others, especially thepeople they don’t know.

When games for a are introduced and managed well theymake the guests want to stay longer. They also give theexpectant mother a little stress-free fun and enjoyment – whichis something she really needs at this stage of her pregnancy.

As a hostess you should be creative with the baby shower partygames and select games that are age appropriate. More thanlikely your attendees have been to many other baby showers andthey will find it a little

boring, if the same old babyshowerparty games are played.

It’s best to reward the winners with small prizes. Your prizesdon’t need to be expensive. Some good choices would be a fancybar of soap, candles, manicure set, picture frame, decorativenotepaper, cookie cutters etc.

When planning the number of games to include, the general ruleof thumb is to have three games planned for a two-hour babyshower. This leaves plenty of time for baby shower gifts,serving a meal or appetizers, getting to know each other andsharing time with the expectant mother.
